No more secrets...

UPDATE....there has obviously been a little confusion about the below post...because I've received a few emails/comments today from friends asking if I was pregnant. No, I am not pregnant, but my dear friend, Marina, is! I've known for a while now that she was expecting, but she finally spilled the beans on her blog today, hence "no more secrets" as the post's title. There is a link below to Marina's blog on the word "out", but I don't think that some of you caught that! :)

Ahhh....the word is finally out. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I think the baby boom has officially arrived.

Here's to all of my prego friends out there!

"The Elk" in Cake Form...

My dad's 55th birthday was this past Saturday, January 17th. Dad and Corinne came to Dallas for the day to celebrate. Jill, Kalie and Cole did a fabulous job on dad's birthday cake....it was a replica our cabin in Colorado ("The Elk"). Needless to say, dad (AKA: Papa Billy to Kalie and Cole) was thrilled....it was his favorite b-day cake ever....and it actually tasted great too! Way to go Kalie and Cole!

I tried to find a picture of "The Elk" so you can see how much the cake actually looks like the cabin, but I didn't come across one. You'll just have to take my word on this one! :)

Back in the saddle again....

You may be able to tell that I'm back from vacation because I haven't had time to blog since we've been home....work is back in full swing, so things are busy, but going great! Lots of girls get engaged over the holidays, so we're busy meeting with potential clients and getting organized for 2009...it's going to be another great year for DFW Events! I'm so thankful for the 2 entire weeks I was able to take off for the holidays...it was so nice to enjoy time with family and REST....I needed it so badly! It feels good to be refreshed! Besides work, I've had some exciting and not-so-exciting happenings this week...

EXCITING....

Exciting happening #1: I went to the Celine Dion concert with my mom on Monday night. Ahhhh...the show was amazing....I just love Celine. I was lucky to get to see her show in Vegas my Junior year in college....and her Dallas show was just as incredible!! Here are a few pics...

The stunning Celine...

Mom and I...

Caroline and I....she happened to be sitting a few rows in front of me in the same section!

Celine in action...she is such a great performer!

Exciting happening #2: The Bachelor Season 13!!!! Whooo hoooo....I think it's going to be an awesome season ahead! Drama....drama....drama!!! I can't believe that DeAnna comes back....now that is some crazy stuff! :) I'm so excited for Monday nights!

Exciting happening #3: Dinner last night with our small group from Irvinig Bible Church. Josh and I really enjoy our group....we all have such a great time together. We're staring a new study in Romans next week, which I'm looking forward to. Last night just made me realize that we really are blessed to have such great community within our church....we've longed for that for 2 1/2 years now since we've been back in Dallas. Thank you Lord for answering our prayers!

Exciting happening #4: The strange leak I found when we going home from CO coming from underneath our carpet in our master bedroom was just a toilet leak and not a foundation issue....we were very worried about it. We are SOOOOOOO thankful that we only have to pay the plumber and not thousands of dollars to fix the foundation!!!!! Again, thank you Lord!!

NOT-SO-EXCITING....

Not-so-exciting happening #1: After my car spent a week in the shop getting fixed from a wreck I had back in October (not my fault)....we were so annoyed when it kept dying on us when we brought it home. It ended up being the fuel filter....not what I wanted to spend $300 on! Oh well....there is always something!! I love my Tahoe....it's about to hit 100,000 miles...the girl is getting old....hang in there, PLEASE! :)

Not-so-exciting happening #2: I'm SICK. Bad alergy/sinus junk...it's horrible. I've completely lost my voice too. I went to the doctor today, so hopefully I'll be feeling better soon. I had to get a shot in my bum....not fun....but the doctor promised it would make me feel better quicker...it better.

Not-so-exciting happening #3: Josh noticed that Kaci (dog #2 in our household) was freaking out this morning after she ate breakfast. She was outside trying to do her "business", but something was obviously not right. Josh brought her inside and made me do the inspecting, since it's supposively "my dog" and not his. Lovely, I thought....just what I wanted to take care of right after I got out of the shower. Well, come to find out, Miss Kaci had the biggest dingle berry hanging from her "you know where" that the poop she was trying to pass, well....couldn't. So, I spent the first part of my morning taking care of the most disgusting thing any dog owner has to do...SO GROSS! I thought I was going to hurl. After it was all said and done though, we couldn't help but laugh. Sorry, I probably should have warned anyone with a sensitive stomach not to read my not-so-exciting happening #3. :)

TGIF tomorrow! This week really has flown by! I'm looking forward to the weekend, so I can rest up and hopefully feel better. And, I have to take our Christmas stuff down....that's always a sad day.

Kuddos to....

My dear friend, Marina over at Penny Lane Designs, for doing such a great job on our Christmas cards this year! They turned out adorable thanks to the creative design and quality printing that Marina did. Thank you SO much, sweet friend!!

Marina backed our cards on beautiful sage green sparkle card stock. And, a special thanks to Luke and David Edmonson over at Edmonson Photography for graciously letting me use one of their pictures from Karen and BJ's wedding....and for doing such a great job at retouching it!

The return address labels that Marina designed....they looked so cute on the back of the envelope, which were also made out of the sage green sparkle paper....the ensemble was perfect!

If you have any design and/or printing needs, be sure to contact Marina....she is so talented! You can visit her website here.

Happy 2009!!!

I love ringing in the new year in Colorado....this is our 3rd year in a row to do so! New Year's 2007 we were at the cabin with Marina and Chris and Jordan and Liz (such a fun trip...we need to do that again soon!)....last year we were here with the family....and this year it was just Josh and I. Last night, we went to Salida (a town about 30 minutes from Buena Vista) to see Marley & Me (I balled my eyes out!) and to have dinner at Amica's, our favorite wood oven pizza joint. After dinner, we drove back to the cabin to watch the ball drop....well, actually we fell asleep about 10 minutes before the ball dropped....don't judge us....we're really not losers! :) Today, we're relaxing around the house, watching lots of football and blogging, of course! I'm going to cook dinner tonight....but other than that, not much going on. I love it!

Here are some pics from our time in Colorado....

Christmas #3...

Dad and Corinne brought the pencil tree to Colorado...it looked adorable in the cabin!

Cole is quickly becoming a Star Wars fan....he loved this Star Wars ship that Dad and Corinne gave him!

Of course Kalie was so excited about her Hannah Montana stage....I think I know every word to all of Hannah Montana's songs now!

Dad and Corinne gave me a new lens for my camera....I am so pumped about it and have already had a great time playing with it!

Fun in the snow...

Ahhhh....this pic makes my heart melt...

So does this one...
