Lucy's 2 Week Doctor's Appointment

On Wednesday (11.3.10), Lucy had her 2 week doctor's appointment. Lucy's pediatrician is Dr. Megan Conoley. Doc Meg is a family friend of ours, so I feel extremely comfortable and confident going to her. Lucy got glowing reviews at her appointment...we are so grateful for her health! She weighs 8 pounds now (40th percentile - she was 6lbs, 13oz when we brought her home from the hospital), is 19.25 inches long (75th percentile) and her head circumference is 35.56 cm (40th percentile). She got her 2nd newborn screening test done (heel prick) and she was not a fan of that. Josh had to hold her while the nurse pricked her heel and squeezed the junk out of it. Broke mom's heart to pieces, but I didn't shed any tears! I'm dreading her 2 month appointment when she has to get her first round of shots!

Lucy was a trooper until the heel prick! These pictures were obviously taken before the drama began...

First Bath 10.21.10

Not quite the spa experience Lucy was looking for...

Pardon my appearance here....reminder....I just gave birth 3 days prior!
Thank goodness someone was having fun....
Little girl is still not liking bath time. Hopefully that will change soon. It breaks my heart to bathe her while she's screaming bloody murder. This picture is from tonight's bath. Bless her heart.

Going Home 10.20.10

Her going home outfit was HUGE on her, but she looked darling...
Dressing a new born is hard work!
She was not happy about the bow....girl is going to have to use to wearing one!
Mom and Lucy....all ready to go home!
Buckled up...we passed the car seat test!
Dad and Lucy walking out of the hospital...he's a natural carrying that car seat!
I only had to tell Josh to slow down once on the drive home.....he was going 75 mph on George Bush.
Ready to head home!

Hospital Visitors...

We had a fabulous experience at Plano Presbyterian! All of the doctors, nurses and staff were incredible....we will definitely go back for future babies! Our time there was shorted lived though...a little shorter than I would have preferred. Since Lucy was born before midnight, Monday night was considered night #1. And since I delivered vaginally with no complications, our stay was only 2 nights. Tuesday flew by with nurses and doctors in and out of our room every hour to check on me and Lucy....and we had fun visitors that came to say hello and meet our new addition! On Wednesday morning they shipped us out into "real" parenthood. It was a little overwhelming, but we managed quite well and were happy to be home once we got there!

Waiting on the World to Change...

I finally found some time last night to go through all of the pictures we have taken since Lucy has been with us. Geez....there are a ton! I've got to stay on top of the picture organization or it will get out of control quickly! Here are a few pictures from the waiting room on Lucy's birthday....she had quite the entourage anticipating her arrival!

Lucy's cheering squad (minus Karen the photographer)...
