After about 20 minutes of convincing, Lucy finally gave in to Eleanor's elaborate plan. No napping took place, but they sure did have fun together and it made for some quality, afternoon entertainment for me. These girls are FUNNY...
This week is our 3rd and final week of swim lessons for the summer. They have been a huge success...Lucy loves it! And she is so much more confident in the water! I mean, look at her in these pictures... :)
Even though she's not really looking at the crowd, I'll call Lucy's first official pre-school program a success! We had so much fun last night at the annual auction fundraiser and dinner for Vista Ridge Discovery Preschool...we came home with some fun stuff and most importantly, lots of money was raised for the school! Way to go GiGi and Carolyn (Lucy's bonus grandmother...and who Lucy is dancing with in this video)!
June was an "only child" on Friday while my MIL took Lucy for the morning. We ran some errands, she took an awesome morning nap (and I got to take a nice long shower!) and we had time to play a little peek-a-boo after lunch...
On Saturday, we enjoyed some family time at the park. June loves to swing and thankfully she has an awesome big sister who loves to push her!
Approximately 3 hours later, our happy little June woke up from her nap screaming at the top of her lungs. Come to find out...another double ear infection (her third double ear infection in 5 weeks)! Boo. So thankful for our amazing pediatrician who offered to meet us at Kid Country on Saturday afternoon to check her ears and call in another round of antibiotics. Ear infections stink.
Lucy loves the Endless Alphabet app on the iPad. It really is an amazing app...she's learning what the letters look like and the sounds they make. I've seen huge improvement over the past couple of weeks...she's getting faster and faster...and having fun!
Lucy has become quite the "pretend" player recently...with her kitchen, her dolls, her car, etc. It's so fun to watch her little mind at work. My cousin passed this adorable kitchen down to Lucy about 9 months ago...she's loved it from the start, but now she's really playing kitchen with it. Typically if you ask her what she's cooking, she'll say either "humus, strawberries or milk." I'm sure her cooking skills and menu options will improve with time. Let's hope.
I'm trying not to laugh when I'm recording her, because she's a microwave door and cabinet slammer...just like her daddy! At least she runs a tight ship. Like me. :)
GiGi and Pops gave Lucy gymnastics classes for her birthday...she had her first class this morning and it went great! She was a little timid at first, but she went right in (with no tears) and participated fairly well. I think she liked that June and I were there watching her the entire time! There were a few things she didn't want to do, but I'm sure she'll become more confident in the weeks to come. She did like the ladder, swinging on the bar and learning to walk on the balance beam!
Next up...a leotard. I just didn't have time to make it to the store over the weekend to buy one!
Lucy's 2nd birthday party was at her favorite indoor play place, The Ark at First Baptist Coppell. We went with a two by two theme and everyone, especially the birthday girl, had such a great time! I couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate our little lady!!
Instead of gifts, we asked our friends to donate school supplies for Family Legacy Missions...we collected a ton of great stuff for the orphans of Zambia! Kiddos left with a make your own Noah's Ark sticker scene!
Time to play on the ark! There is no telling how many times Lucy went up and down...she had so much fun with her friends!
Mommy and daddy made a few runs too!
And so did June Bug!

I've been married to my high school sweetheart, Josh, for 9 glorious years. We have been blessed with two beautiful daughters, Lucy Kate (10.18.10) and June Marie (8.9.12). I graduated from Coppell High School in 2000 and from Texas A&M University in 2004. We moved back to Coppell in 2008 and attend church at The Door Church.
