Happy Halloween!!

Last night we went to a pumpkin carving party at Alison and Amanda's house. It was so much fun...I can't remember the last time I carved a pumpkin. It really got us in the Halloween and Fall spirit...especially with the chill in the air! Thanks for hosting such a fun party, Alison and Amanda!

Here are a few pictures of our pumpkin...we attempted to carve our initials...mRj...

Notice anything funny in this one...

Happy Halloween...or for all of you Chi-O's out there....Happy Owloween!! Sorry...I couldn't help myself. :)

Trick-or-Treat...smell my feet...give me something good to eat,
Mindy

DIY...Rives Style

Josh and our friends, Chris and Michael, have spent the past couple of weekends demolishing our backyard deck. Here is how our backyard use to look....don't be fooled...it looks nice, but many of the boards are old and rotten...

The boys hard at work...and play...

My personal favorite...

3,600 pounds of top soil, 200 squares of sod, a ginormous possum playing possum, a very funny encounter with a jack hammer, 3 nasty trips to the city dump, a broken finger (Josh's) and 3 weeks later our backyard now looks like this...

We have a ways to go before it's completely finished....landscaping will come in the Spring....but we're loving it so far! Chloe and Kaci are enjoying their new backyard too! Thanks so much to Chris and Michael who gave up 2 of their weekends to help Josh....y'all are the best!

My heart is happy...

My favorite duo, Shane and Shane, released their first Christmas album, Glory In The Highest, on Tuesday!

I can't wait to get my hands on this one...it's not available on iTunes yet, but I'm sure it'll be up there soon....or at least I hope so...or I'm going to have to break down and buy the actual CD.

In a nutshell...
Shane and Shane + Christmas Music = PURE JOY!

Track list includes...

O Holy Night
White Christmas
Away in a Manager
Silent Night
Born to Die
Holiday
O Little Town of Bethlehem
O Come O Come Emmanuel
Glory in the Highest
It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
O Come Let us Adore Him

And...just when you thought it couldn't get any better....Shane and Shane are doing a Christmas tour in December with Bethany Dillon and Phil Wickham! Josh and I will be at the Dec. 13th show in Plano at Chase Oaks Church....whoo hooo...can't wait!!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
Mindy :)
