Sizzlin' Hot!!!

Josh and I helped host a couples shower for the soon-to-be "Mr. and Mrs. Rector" Saturday night at my mom's house. We went with a Mexican Fiesta theme....everything turned out really cute! I didn't get to take as many pictures as I would have liked to....but here are a few...enjoy!

I found these adorable bride and groom pinatas at La Mariposa on Henderson Avenue in Dallas...a great place to go for anything Mexican!

It was a great night, so we ate outdoors....

The adorable bride & Groom....BJ & Karen! 5 weeks until the big day!!

We love y'all so much and can't wait for October 11th!!!!!!

The DFW Events girls...

My dear, dear friend Marina at Penny Lane Designs created the invitations for the party....they were so cut and such a hit! Everyone loved them! Marina can do it all, so be sure to contact her for your next party or stationary/design need! Marina launched her new website this summer, so be sure to check it out!

New News...

I'm sorry that it has been more than a week since my last post....life is busy right now and therefore, blogging gets put on the back burner. I apologize to all of my loyal readers out there...please forgive me...all 5 of you. :)

We've got some big news to share from the Rives household...Josh has accepted a new job with Family Legacy Missions International, the organization we went to Zambia with this past summer! Josh has really been feeling the "pull" to get back into full time ministry for a while now. After we got home from Zambia, we started praying fervently that God would open a door in this direction....and we prayed that he would do so quickly. Well he did. Josh interviewed for the job last Tuesday and accepted the job on Wednesday...and today was his first day of work! It's been so cool to watch God move over the last few weeks....we are confident that He has orchestrated each and every detail. Josh's role at Family Legacy is the Director of Technology and Information Systems....it just couldn't be more perfect for him! Here is a description of his position....this was sent out in an email this past weekend to everyone involved in the ministry of Family Legacy....

Josh Rives is coming to Family Legacy with over four years experience in database design, systems integration and information technology consulting from the internationally known consulting group of Accenture, Inc. Josh will be working directly with our outside database consulting firm in developing and expanding the Father’s Heart database, including developing the enhanced Father’s Heart Sponsor interface and communication module. He will also be working to design and launch our brand new Camp LIFE database, including our online Camp LIFE registration and trip management system. Finally, Josh will be working with our creative design firm over the next several months as we completely overhaul our ministry website. Ministry is Josh’s passion and database and technology consulting is his forte. Josh and his wife Mindy live in Coppell, TX and are both alumni of Camp LIFE Zambia 2008.

We ask that you pray for us during this transition...as we'll definitely be making some huge lifestyle changes as we adjust to a "ministry" salary....Josh is taking a HUGE pay cut by leaving the "real" business world, but we know it's worth it and faithful that God will provide for our needs.

Have a great week!
Mindy
