Frankfurt was not technically a "destination" on our trip, but we did have a 12 layover there on our way to Greece, so we made the most of it and left the airport to explore the city a bit. Here are a few pictures from our short visit to Germany....
No clue what this building is, but it was the first thing I saw upon exiting the subway station!
Old meets new...I like the old better!
Crossing the Main River...
Trying to imitate the strange statue...we didn't do a very good job.
A beautiful church we visited....I can't remember the name of it....I should have been taking notes!
Inside...
I wish I knew what this said...
Psalm 23 in German...
Completely inappropriate....I love him though!
In one of the many squares...this is what I envisioned Germany to look like....
We visited a really awesome market...they had an abundance of fruits, vegetables, spices, meats, pastas and chocolates....yum!
Frankfurt was a cool city, but nothing compared to the other places we visited in Greece and Turkey. Tomorrow's post...more pictures from our first official stop....SANTORINI!!!
