Developmentally, she has made some progress...
-She is almost sitting up. She still needs some assistance, but every once in a while she'll make it a few seconds on her own.
-She has improved significantly on her tummy time. Josh and I have really tried to be disciplined at practicing tummy time with her. She can now make it a few minutes without crying, instead of a few seconds. She really just doesn't like being on her tummy, but I'm hoping we'll keep making progress in the coming weeks so she can eventually hold herself up and crawl! The way she's going now, she may walk first! :)
-She is still rolling from side to side, but not rolling over on her own. She'll roll from her back to stomach with a little push from one of us.
-We'll start rice cereal in the next couple of weeks. I think she's ready, because she has started to notice our food...her little eyes follow it as it moves from our plates to our mouths. It's pretty funny! Josh put the high chair together this week, so we can't wait for her to use it!
-She has figured out how to take her paci out of her month with her hands....but she definitely has not figured out how to put it back in!
-Lucy is very aware of our dogs now...she loves to watch them run around and play! And the dogs are great with her, which we are very grateful for!
-She talks, screams and sings all of the time. Which is hilarious until we're at a quiet restaurant!
-She's going through a phase where she really doesn't enjoy being in her car seat. I hope this passes quickly. Driving with a crying/screaming baby is not fun. It's not all of the time, but quite often recently.
-She's wearing size 6-12 month clothes and still in size 2 diapers.
Other than that, we've really haven't had too many changes. We're still following the
same schedule during the day and she's still sleeping like a champ at night. Call me a chicken, but we haven't dropped the dream feed yet. I'm so scared that if we don't feed her at 10:30pm she'll wake up at 3am starving!! So, now we're starting to slowly wean her from it. Every few days, I'm decreasing the amount of ounces we give her. We're at 2.5 ounces right now (we started at 4oz). Once we get down to 1.5 ounces, we'll stop. Josh and I both are ready to be done with it. I pump, while Josh gives her a bottle (when we give her a bottle, she sleeps right through the feed).
We love you Lucy Kate!!! You are such a JOY!!! Happy 5 months baby girl!!!
