This past month was definitely eventful...lots of changes and firsts!
Weight: 17 lbs 3 oz (75 %)
Height: 27" (90%)
Head Circumference: 43.18 cms (70%)
Lucy sat up by herself for the first time on March 21st. She'll take a good tumble every once in a while (usually because she gets distracted and loses her balance), but for the most part, she is a pro!
She had solids for the first time on March 24th. We started off with rice cereal for the first few days and then started slowly introducing fruits and veggies. So far she has had green beans, peas, carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, bananas, prunes, apples and pears. She definitely prefers fruits over veggies and oatmeal over rice cereal.
We dropped the 10:30pm dream feed on March 27th!! It didn't even phase her...she slept straight through until 7:30am. We also worked on stretching her feedings during the day from 3 hours to 4 hours, which caused us to drop another feeding (during the day). So, now she eats 4 times a day....at 7:30am, 11:30am, 3:30pm and between 7 and 7:30pm. We give her solids twice a day....most days at her 11:30am and evening feedings. She usually takes 8-10oz of milk and 2-4 tbsp of solids. I'm still nursing, but I have to supplement with formula to keep up with her appetite! She takes formula just as well as breast milk.
Lucy was ready to drop her third nap towards the end of March, so March 26th was the first day we attempted 2 naps...it took her about 3 days to adjust. She is now napping twice a day....typically from 9:30am - 11:30am and 1:30pm - 3:30pm. At night, she is sleeping from 7:30/8pm - 7:30am.
She has figured out how to put her feet in her mouth...it's awesome! And she can now put her paci back in by herself, which is wonderful! I still give her a paci when she goes down for her naps and at night...but 9 times out of 10, the paci comes out and her thumb goes in! She is a drool machine and EVERYTHING goes in her mouth.
Her first tooth (bottom right) starting coming through on April 10th! I have a feeling more are on the way. She has been slightly fussy because of teething, but it hasn't been horrible. Usually Baby Orajel or Tylenol will do the trick if she is super fussy.
She enjoys swinging at the park, going for walks, looking at herself in the mirror (I think she's figured out that she is seeing herself), play dates, her Exersaucer, Sassy Seat and playing with her toys on her play mat. She has also started to really notice Kaci and Chloe....she loves to watch them play and run around the house!
She is wearing size 6-12 month clothes and size 2 diapers.
Overall, Lucy is a very good baby....and a HAPPY one!! She is smiling, laughing and singing (which is really screaming) all of the time! She is an absolute joy...even on the hard days. Time truly does fly...I cannot believe she is 6 months old!!
