June Marie :: 12 Months

Happy FIRST Birthday June Marie!!

Weight: 21 lbs, 4 oz (72%)
Height: 29.5" (61%)
Head Circumference: 45.72 cms (72%)
Size 3 Diapers
12-18 Month Clothes

Sleeping
No changes from last month. June goes down for bed between 7:45/8pm and wakes up for the day around 7:45/8am. Still taking 2 1.5 hour naps, typically from 10:30am-12pm and 2:30pm-4pm. I usually have to wake her from naps, so I don't think she'll be dropping her morning nap anytime soon. Girl likes her sleep...and always wakes up happy.

Eating
We started introducing June to whole milk several weeks ago because she was pretty much refusing formula. As of a few days ago, she is exclusively on whole milk...and loving it! We are too...because that means no more expensive and smelly formula!  I'm working on weaning her from the bottle...thankfully, this really has been the easiest transition. She loves drinking from a sippy cup! I still offer her a bottle before bedtime, but I'll cut this out in the next couple of weeks because she really doesn't need it anymore....It's just a comfort thing at this point. She eats 3 meals a day...breakfast, lunch and dinner and an afternoon snack. So far, she's a great eater and not too picky. Squeezies are still hit or miss...she just prefers solid table foods! Still working on sign language...I think she's starting to understand "more."

Activity Time
June is crawling FAST and pulling up on everything. We've seen her stand on her own a few times, but no steps yet. She is getting better at walking while we hold both of her hands, but she hasn't figured out how to walk behind a walker yet. She's into anything and everything! Her favorite thing to play/crawl on is her Anywhere Chair from Pottery Barn...she LOVES it!

Milestones/Firsts/Changes
June's 2 front teeth came through this month, so she now has 4 on top and 2 on bottom. She's going through a phase where she doesn't like to have her diaper changed...the minute I put her on her back, she flips over and looks for something to grab and throw off the changing table. She reaches for us to pick up her. Babbling and talking non-stop...can say dada, mama (typically when she's frustrated), tada, and uh-oh. She gets so excited when we come home and becomes pretty pitiful when we leave (it doesn't last long). Ever since we got back from our family vacation in Arkansas, she's a little skeptical of her carseat...she probably thinks we're about to embark on another 8 hour road trip. This will definitely not be happening again anytime soon!

Personality
June is such a happy girl 95% of the time! She's friendly, loving, snuggly, easy-going, flexible and quick to warm to new people and places...but don't worry, she's still a 100% girl and filled with lots of drama! Good thing our daddy is extremely patient... :)

Happy 12 months June Bug!!! What a year it has been...by far the fastest and most wonderful year of my life having 2 precious girls. You complete our little family and bring endless amounts of joy, love and laughter to our home. We love you to the moon and back...and back...and back! Happy Birthday!!!

And...that's a wrap with the first year monthly posts! Whew...I did it.
