Loving these April Showers!

Today couldn't be a better day to have the day off! It's been raining and thundering since early this morning....so, I'm still in bed snuggling with my pups, drinking coffee, watching TV and playing on my computer. There is something about the rain that is so calming....I love it, especially on days like these!

I had a very busy, but good weekend. I worked a rehearsal dinner on Friday night at The Dallas Petroleum Club, attended a baby shower for my dear friend, Lauren, on Saturday afternoon, and worked a wedding at Perkins Chapel and Brook Hollow Golf Club (one of my favorite venues in Dallas) Saturday afternoon/evening. Both of my events went really well, which makes me very happy! DFW Events had 3 different weddings this weekend, so we were all very busy! We have 3 more this weekend too! We are so thankful for all of the weddings we have coming up!

I had such a great time on Saturday with old friends at Lauren's baby shower. It's still crazy to think that we're in the midst of the baby boom....and that we're old enough to be moms!!! I feel like it was just yesterday that we were all freshman at A&M! Lauren was just glowing and her baby bump looked absolutely adorable. I can't wait to meet little William in July! CeCe and Jill are pregnant too, so there were 3 prego ladies in our presence on Saturday....I just love it...bring on the babies!!! :)

I had another "first" at my wedding on Saturday night....A former president in attendance! Laura and George Bush were dining on the porch at Brook Hollow with friends during the reception!!! George was so kind and took the time to speak with my bride and groom and take a picture with them. Needless to say, my bride was on cloud 9...it made her so happy!

Good news....Josh's dad, Wray, GOT A JOB!!!! We are so excited for him. He has been on the job search for 3 months now....and his hard work paid off! Thank you Jesus!!

Other exciting news....Fat Daddy's Burger House is opening in Southlake tomorrow!!! My boss and her husband (Mary-Frances and Wyatt Hurt) own Fat Daddy's. The original location is in Dallas off of Garland Road, they opened a Coppell location last year and now Southlake opens tomorrow! Go eat at Fat Daddy's! The food is delicious! And if you're on Facebook, become a fan of Fat Daddy's Burger House!!

Yesterday, I treated myself to a pedicure....it was amazing. Due to our budget, I haven't had a pedicure in quite awhile! I thoroughly enjoyed it and my toes look great....they needed a little TLC! And tomorrow evening, I'm getting a facial at The Ritz Carlson Spa. I received a gift certificate for Christmas...and it's time to finally use it!! I can't wait! We all need a little pampering, right?! :)

I've started a new book....Something Borrowed by Emily Griffin. I read another book of hers (Love the One You're With) last year and really loved it. I'm hoping Something Borrowed will be just as good....so far, I'm really enjoying it!

This weekend, I'm having my very first garage sale!! My sister-in-law and I are doing a combined sale in hopes that we can get rid of our old things and make a little extra money for new summer clothes! Come to 502 Meadowview in Coppell from 8am-1pm on Saturday if you're a garage sale person.....we're selling baby things, nice clothing (mens, womens and childrens), house ware and home decor items and much more!

I'll finish this random post, with 2 pictures of the absolutely gorgeous peonies (one of my favorite flowers) in my kitchen window! My mom's best friend is a big gardener and was so kind to give me a few of her prized peonies! :) They are so beautiful and smell amazing!

Have a great week!!!

XOXO,
Mindy

Hi! So we saw Karen at the wedding we attended on Saturday night and were hoping you might be there as well but it sounds like you had another wedding to do :) Also, I really liked Something Borrowed... next you need to read Something Blue and Baby Proof!
